TollTag & Invoicing Tips

Some Things to Remember

  • Never swap TollTags. Each TollTag is assigned to a specific vehicle and license plate number. Changing vehicles without modifying your account could result in a bill.
  • When you apply for a TollTag, you are actually setting up a pre-paid account to cover your future toll charges.
  • For multi-vehicle households, you may use up to three TollTags on a single user account, without any additional deposit required. The additional TollTags are available upon request.
  • If you pull a trailer behind your vehicle, toll charges are assessed based upon the number of axles the vehicle has. Refer to our fee chart page in the Help Section.
  • Keep an Eye On Your Card!- TollTag accounts are prepaid. If you use your debit or credit card, NTTA will withdraw funds to replenish your account automatically. If your credit card expires, we will be unable to rebill your account, and you may end up with a bill.

Why did I get a Invoice?

Invoices are generated for the following reasons:

  • A vehicle registered to you passed through a Toll Plaza without paying the associated toll fees.
  • If you're a TollTag holder, and your vehicle's information on your account isn't updated to reflect the vehicle you were driving, you may receive a bill.Your TollTag is vehicle-specific. If you have moved your TollTag to another vehicle, you must contact the Customer Service Center at 972-818-6882(NTTA) or go to the online Customer Service Center ( to update your TollTag information prior to using the Tollway.
  • Your TollTag account did not have enough funds available to pay the applicable tolls.

Our new online Customer Service Center makes it quick and easy to pay for your outstanding fees online.

Here’s an outline of the process:

  • You’ll be needing these:
    • Your invoice number.
    • Your car's licence plate number and state.
    • Your driver's license information.
    • A major credit card.
  • To take care of your bills, go to the front page of the Online Customer Service Center and enter your information in the "Pay Second Notice" area at the far right of the home page. You will be given many options to take care of your bills.

    You will be able to update your current TollTag account, apply for a new TollTag account, and resolve any bills. You will also be able to print credit card receipts for your payment records.
